North Tipp Hospice Classic: The North Tipperary Hospice in Home Care Movement Classic will take place on this Saturday and Sunday July 30th and 31st. The format will be open champagne scramble team of four (ladies, gents or mixed) with two scores to count on each hole. Entry will be €80 per team. Special prizes for best all ladies and visitors team not featuring in main prizes. Separate raffle on the day for valuable prizes. Goody bags for all. There will be over €2000 in prizes. 1st prize: 4 golf bags; 2nd prize: 4 wedges; 3rd prize: golf shoes; 4th prize: Titleist golf balls and numerous spot prizes.

Club Classic Open Scramble: The Nenagh Golf Club Open Scramble Classic will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 5th, 6th and 7th in aid of course development. The main sponsors are Eanna Jones (PGA professional), Slattery's Garage (main Peugeot and Subaru dealers), Breo Jewellers and Nineteen Bar and Bistro. Entry fee for a team of four will be €200 (meal included). Teams can consist of men, ladies or mixed. First prize will be four drivers; second prize will be four golf watches and third will be four golf bags. There will be a prize for an all-ladies team. There will be numerous other prizes for green fees, etc. You may book your team through the club BRS system of phone 067-31476 (option 2). More details later.

South of Ireland: Well done to David Reddan Jnr who reached the last 16 in the South of Ireland championship held at Lahinch Golf Club last weekend. He qualified for the matchplay stages following two rounds with a score of one under par. He beat Brandon St. John (Portmarnock) 3&2 and had a two holes victory over Gavin O'Neill of Malahide but lost to Max Kennedy of Royal Dublin in the last 16 match. Scott O'Brien also reached the matchplay stages after two rounds of strokeplay.

Club Fourball: The draw for the club fourball has been made and his posted in the locker room. The deadline for the second round was 13th July so get your outstanding matches played.

Special 50/50 Members' Draw: The fortnightly 50/50 Members' Draw in aid of the club development fund is ongoing. In the draw held on Saturday July 23rd Ita Mills won €155 with the total pot at €305. To enter simply put €5 in the envelope supplied and place it in draw box outside the pro shop. Please support. The next draw will take place on Saturday 6th August.
