Winter League: The Winter League 2021-2022 continued last weekend. Following the third round of singles qualifiers the following is the table: John M Slattery 359 pts; Jody Hurley 353 pts; Michael Hegarty 353 pts; Robbie Foley 352 pts; Andrew McCarthy 352 pts; Cronan Casey 343 pts; Gerard Ryan 338 pts; Denis Corrigan 332 pts; Kieran Ryan 325 pts. The Winter League will continue with another 14 hole qualifier this weekend Saturday and Sunday 29th and 30th January. Five of the eight players from each team must play in the 14 hole competition with four best scores to count.

50/50 Members' Draw: The fortnightly 50/50 Members' Draw in aid of the club development fund is ongoing. In the draw held on Saturday 15th January Michael Manning won €105 with the total pot at €205. To enter simply put €5 in the envelope supplied and place it in draw box outside the pro shop. The winner will receive 50% of the pot. The prize grows with every ticket sold. Please support. The next draw will take place on this Saturday January 29th. Thanks to everybody who supported this club fundraiser.

Open Team of 4: The new Open Team of 4 competition has commenced and will run for the months of December, January, February and March. The sponsor is Eanna Jones (PGA professional). Full playing handicaps apply with two scores to count. Entry fee will be €25 per player for visitors and €5 per player for members with re-entry in same month €15 for visitors. 25% of entry will go to the best visitors team per month and 25% goes to the best member team per month. Building adjacent to first tee is to get a facelift, new doors, painting of walls and roof with some repairs to the roof.

On course: Works to bunkers close to 10th and 11th greens being considered with a view to a short/long term plan for all bunkers.

Safety on the course: We would advise all golfers to be mindful of safety while playing and to look out for players playing ahead of you. Don't play your ball if players playing ahead of you are within range of your shot. Furthermore if you have a stray shot, you shout fore, when it happens not seconds later. A hit from a golf ball can be very damaging.

Lost Balls: Just give the minimum time of 3 minutes to find your ball and move on speedily.

Slow Play: Slow play isn't good for your health or your golf.
