Nenagh Golf Club Junior Newsletter March 2015 We would like this opportunity to inform you of Nenagh Golf Clubs Junior Golf activities. New Joint Junior Committee: We have formed a new Joint junior committee this year to: Promote both the Boys and Girls sections of Nenagh Golf Club Put in place a junior structure that can be handed on from year to year to each incoming committee/personnel to ensure smooth transition for the Juniors. Put in place Calendar of Junior events for 2015 for all levels - something for everyone. There will be a free coaching session followed by a 8-hole competition (three Juniors will play with our Pro or an Adult low handicapper). From April, there will be supervised weekly competitions for boys/youths. We are in the process of applying for a coaching grant for the junior boys from the GUI. We envisage the coaching programme will commence in June. Senior boys/youths please also keep an eye to the Golf Club Diary and fixtures list 2015 for possible competitions to enter. The Irish Junior foursomes boys team will be in action on Friday April 3rd at Charleville golf club at 10am, while the Fred Daly trophy team will take on Roscrea at Adare Manor on Saturday 2nd May at 9.45am. If you are interested in playing on these teams, please contact Pat Byrne, Collwyn Martin or David Hunt at the above email address or phone number. What to expect in the coming months -Girls: The Junior Girls golf recommenced in February and we are out every Saturday 3.30-5.30pm. Text messages will be sent weekly to confirm our activity. We have secured an ILGU coaching grant for the Junior girls and this 10 week programme started on the 28th of February and continues on the following dates: 14th & 28th March; 11th, 18th & 25th of April 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th May We will be organising Cluster days with Limerick & Castletroy Golf clubs during the summer as well as hosting our own day. Senior girls please also keep an eye to the Golf Club Diary and fixtures list 2015 for possible Ladies competitions. We also have our Lady Captain's Prize in July and Lady President's Day in September to look forward to. Open Day for Non-members (Girls & Boys) We are running a Junior Golf Taster day 12-2pm on April 18th. This is for Non-member boys & girls aged 10-14 _ if you know anyone interested please let them know - The Open Day is free of charge and will give them a taste of Golf - on the day we will be giving the children the chance to sign up to a five week coaching course (April 25th _ May 30th) @
