Open Team Of Three

Team of Three 2019-20: The Team of Three competition for 2019-2020 will commence in October. Members can play Monday to Saturday, visitors can play any day excluding open days. Two teams qualify each month. If visiting team not in first two, best visiting team to qualify each month with a grand final in May 2019. Prizes: 1st - 3x €300 Vouchers; 2nd - 3x €200 Vouchers; 3rd - 3x €100 Vouchers; 4th - 3x €75; 5th - 3x €50 Vouchers. Competition fee will be €10 each for members and €20 each for visitors with re-entry in the same month €5 for members and €10 for visitors. Play off 9/10th of your handicap. Each player who enters will be included in a draw for prizes of €150, €100 and €50 at the end of the competition. You may book on-line or contact the Pro Shop 067 31476 Ext 2 or 087 2132241.

Winter League Results for Saturday 2nd February Group 1: The Winter League was postponed on Saturday morning because of frost on the course. These matches will be played on Saturday 16th February.

Other Notes

New Rules of Golf presentation: A presentation on the new Rules of Golf 2019 will take place on Wednesday 6th February at 7.30 p.m. in Nenagh Golf Club. This presentation is open to all members and you are encouraged to attend. It will be delivered by Mary Coman (R&A Rules official).

Membership Year 2019: The renewals of your membership have been issued recently. Please note that Subscriptions for Year 2019 are now due and members are requested to submit payment as soon as possible. Prompt payment will ensure that necessary work required to keep the course in top condition can continue for all our enjoyment. We wish all our members many hours of enjoyment on the course for the coming year.

Buggy owners and users – important notice: Please note that all golf buggy owners and users need to have public liability insurance on their buggies used on the golf club grounds. To avoid any misunderstanding or confusion, the club has been advised by its insurance broker and advisor that the publicliability insurance in force for the club does not cover independently owned buggies. After two serious buggie accidents last year the Management Committee decided that no member or guest visiting the club should use a golf buggy on the course without having provided an up to-date copy of their current Insurance to the club in the first instance, and have signed the acknowledgement form to say that they have read and understood the club’s Golf Buggy Safety Policy. Anyone who does not have Insurance on their golf buggies must not use them on the course until such time as you have arranged Insurance and provided a copy to Tom or the Office. Those with their own Insurance should ensure this is renewed in advance of expiry and a copy is shown each year to the Office. The club has enquired about the availability of a group scheme to cover any group of users who may wish to co-operate in this regard, however insurers have advised our broker that such a scheme is not available and each individual owner must insure their own buggy individually. Scroope Insurances have undertaken a survey of the market for golf buggy insurance and are available to advise on this by contacting Linda (067 32055) or contact your own broker. Please contact Tom or the Hon. Sec. if you require any further information on this matter.

Munster U13 Close Qualifers at Macroom GC and Adare Manor GC: Entries are now open on line for the Munster Boys U13 Close Qualifiers at Macroom GC on the 3lst of March, and Adare Manor Golf Club on the 17th April. Players must be a member of a Munster Club affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland. The Munster Club must be the entrant's home club for handicapping purposes. Players can only enter one venue. Entries close for the Macroom venue on the 3rd of March, and Adare venue on the 20th March.
