High winds and uncertain weather kept the numbers and scores down for the first Open Wednesday Singles competition of the year. Michael J. Cleary birdied the first and third holes on his way to a winning 36 pts. Paul Dooley filled the second spot with 35 pts while Scott O'Brien was one over par, with three birdies, for his round.

Open Team Of Three

Team of Three 2019-20: The Team of Three competition for 2019-2020 will commence in October. Members can play Monday to Saturday, visitors can play any day excluding open days. Two teams qualify each month. If visiting team not in first two, best visiting team to qualify each month with a grand final in May 2019. Prizes: 1st - 3x €300 Vouchers; 2nd - 3x €200 Vouchers; 3rd - 3x €100 Vouchers; 4th - 3x €75; 5th - 3x €50 Vouchers. Competition fee will be €10 each for members and €20 each for visitors with re-entry in the same month €5 for members and €10 for visitors. Play off 9/10th of your handicap. Each player who enters will be included in a draw for prizes of €150, €100 and €50 at the end of the competition. You may book on-line or contact the Pro Shop 067 31476 Ext 2 or 087 2132241.

Mens Notes

Winter League Quarter finals results on Saturday March 16: Heavy rain on Friday night and Saturday morning led to the postponement of the Winter league match between Niall O'Meara and Brian Freeman. This has been refixed for this Saturday March 23 at 9.30am

Senior Scratch Cup: The Frank Maher Memorial Senior Scratch Cup (sponsored by Glazing Spares and Repairs and Tippo International Ltd.) will take place at Nenagh Golf Club on Saturday March 30. It will be a 36 holes stroke competition. First prize gross: €500 GUI voucher; second prize gross: €300 GUI voucher; third prize gross: €200 GUI voucher; fourth prize gross: €150 GUI voucher; first nett €150 GUI voucher; second prize nett: €100 GUI voucher. Entry to Nenagh Golf Club at 067 31476 (ext 2). Entry fee of €30 includes soup and sandwich at lunch. Handicap limit is 5 and first 39 entries received will be accepted.

Singles Matchplay: The draw for the singles matchplay (O'Keeffe Cup) is on the noticeboard in the men's locker room. First round matches to be played before April 28th. First named player to arrange match. Get your match played as soon as you can to ensure the smooth running of this competition.

Duggan Cup: If you are interested in being considered for selection for the Duggan Cup please put your name on the sheet on the noticeboard in the men's locker room. You must be over 50 years of age on January 1 2019 and be 18 handicap or better. The first match will be versus Tullamore on April 7. Jim Flynn is the manager.

J. B. Carr Trophy: The J. B. Carr Diamond Trophy is an inter-club competition for those over 60 years of age on January 1 2019.. There is a sheet posted on the noticeboard in the men's locker room on which you may put your name if you wish to be considered for selection. The manager of the team will be Paddy Peters.

Membership Year 2019: Please note that Subscriptions for Year 2019 are now due and members are requested to submit payment as soon as possible. Prompt payment will ensure that necessary work required to keep the course in top condition can continue for all our enjoyment.

Munster U13 Close Qualifers at Macroom GC and Adare Manor GC: Entries are now open on line for the Munster Boys U13 Close Qualifiers at Macroom GC on March 31, and Adare Manor Golf Club on April 17. Players must be a member of a Munster Club affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland. The Munster Club must be the entrant's home club for handicapping purposes. Players can only enter one venue. Entries closed for the Macroom venue on March 3, and Adare venue on March 20. Please follow below link for Macroom GC venue:
