John Slattery wins President's Prize: The President's (Sean Minogue) Prize was played for over Saturday and Sunday with the Saturday players getting the best of the weather. John Slattery blitzed the field with a 59 on Saturday. Eamon O'Brien scored a 65 while Brian Freeman had a 67. 69s were scored by Michael Tierney, Eddie Scanlan, Richard Moloney and Jade Kriel. Patrick Corkery and Conor Dore had 70. Pairic Shanahan and Benny Dunne carded 71 while 72 was the scores for Oliver Quinn, Michael Corrigan, Paul Moloney and Brian Nolan. 185 cards were returned. In the 9 hole playoff on Sunday evening John Slattery scored 31.5 to win the president's prize by a wide margin. At the presentation of prizes Sean Minogue thanked everybody who took part in his event and his committee members for their assistance during the year. Also thanked were the course staff and catering personnel. He especially thanked John Sheridan, Sean McLoughin, Jim Flynn and Bernard Delahunty for their help with the erection of the temporary shelter over the outside dining area on Saturday which proved a very valuable facility for the presentation function on Sunday night.

Moore Cup: The Moore Cup team had a convincing win over Birr in their second round on Tuesday last. In action in Nenagh were Billy Burke, Billy Morgan and Jim Ryan (K) while playing away were Noel O'Dwyer, Garry Howard, Dinny Ryan and Willie Harty. In their third round match they will meet the winners of Baltinglass and The Heath. The selectors are Matt Hanly and John Hackett.

Fred Daly: Our junior boys represented the club in the Fred Daly Tournament against Adare Manor last Wednesday. It was a very brave performance with each and every golfer playing to a very high standard. Dermot McTiernan, Aodán O'Connor and Liam O'Shaughnessy played at home and gave a great account of themselves. In Adare Seán Kelly, Eoin Kelly and Luke Purcell played super golf and they pushed every match to the 18th. For many of these players it was their first time representing the club in match play and the standard of golf was exceptional. It was an invaluable experience for all. Best of luck to Adare Manor in the next round. Thanks to the team and their manager Cronan Casey.

Fred Perry Cup: The Fred Perry Cup team had a match against Limerick on Monday July 12. They have three matches away and two at home.

Pierce Purcell: The Pierce Purcell Shield team have their second round match against Rathbane on this Wednesday July 14. They will play three matches at home and two away. The management team is PJ Shanahan and Bernard Delahunty.

Duggan Cup: Nenagh received a bye into the second round of the Duggan Cup. The second round match has been arrange for this Wednesday July 14 at 3.00pm.

Senior Cup: The Senior Cup team will play Castletroy on this Friday July 16.

Junior Cup: Our Junior Cup squad are in action against Castletroy this Saturday July 17 at 3.30pm. Their manager is Hugh Maher.

Cashman Cup: The Cashman Cup squad have their second round match against Ballyskisteen on Saturday July 17 at 3.30pm. They have three matches at home and two away. The management team is Tony McCann and Michael Fitzgibbon.

Barton Shield: The Barton Shield team will be in action on Sunday July 18 against Castletroy.

Lions Club: The Lions Club will hold a Champagne Scramble on Sunday July 25. Entry will be €50 per team of four. Proceeds of the fundraiser will go to Carmha. The prizes for the event will be sponsored by Jim McLoughney Menswear and Breo Jewellers.

50/50 Members' Draw: The fortnightly 50/50 Members' Draw in aid of the club development fund is ongoing. In the last draw held on Friday July 2 Sean Carroll won €190 with the total pot at €340.To enter simply put €5 in the envelope supplied and place it in draw box outside the pro shop. The winner will receive 50% of the pot. The draw will take place every second Friday. The prize grows with every ticket sold. Please support. The next draw will take place on this Friday July 16.
