Club Classic this weekend: The competition for this Saturday and Sunday August 1 and 2 will be the Golf Classic 2020 in aid of North Tipperary Hospice in Home Care Movement sponsored by Fogarty Concrete, Kellys of Fantane and Costello Oil with over €2000 in prizes. The format is open team of four (ladies, gents and mixed) with two scores to count at each hole. Entry will be €60 per team. Special prizes for best all-ladies and visitors teams not featuring in main prizes. There will be a separate raffle for valuable prizes and goody bags for all. 1st prize 4 golf bags; 2nd prize 4 wedges; 3rd prize golf shoes; 4th prizes Titleist golf balls. Timesheets now available through the club's BRS booking system or by telephoning the club at 067 31476.

Tuesdan and Wednesday August 4 and 5: Open Singles.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday August 8, 9 and 10: Captain's Prize (Jim Flynn) Qualifier.

Saturday August 15: Captain's Prize Playoff.

50/50 Members' Draw: The club has commence a fortnightly 50/50 Members' Draw in aid of the club development fund. Simple put €5 in the envelope supplied and place it in draw box in the Pro Shop. The winner will receive 50% of the pot. The draw will take place every second Friday. The prize grows with every ticket sold. Please support. The first draw took place on Friday July 17 with the popular winner of €500 being Mary Ryan, Beleen. The second draw will take place on Friday July 31.

Club singles: The club singles matchplay competition (O'Keeffe Cup) had resumed. The draw for which is posted on the noticeboard in the men's locker room. The first round matches should have been completed by Saturday July 18 and the second round matches by Saturday August 1. Both players to arrange match.

Pierce Purcell: The selectors are Brendan Kennedy and Sean McLoughlin. Nenagh's first match will be away to Limerick before August 3.

Jimmy Bruen: Nenagh's first match is at home to Adare Manor to be played before 9 August. The selectors are Collwyn Martin and Brian Freeman.

Junior Cup: Our first match is at home to East Clare before August 3. The selectors are David Jones and Shane Hogan.

Junior Golf: Cronan Casey is delighted to announce that we can at last continue with golf lessons this year. Due to time constraints we are holding an intensive week of lessons from Monday-Friday August 3-7. Each group will receive an hour's lesson each morning with our club professional Éanna Jones. There will be a mixture of on-course, putting green and driving range lessons. This course is limited to members and only a maximum of 40 can attend. The cost of the course is €30. Paddy Kennedy: The sympathy of the club is extended to the family of Paddy Kennedy who died recently. Paddy was one of the more prominent members of the club and was well known throughout Tipperary and Munster for his exploits with team golf. He won Munster and All-Ireland titles in Jimmy Bruen, Pierce Purcell and Mixed along with managing a number of winning teams. He was the winner of numerous major prizes within the club. He also served on the men's committee for a number of years. There was a guard of honour of officers and members of the club at his funeral mass in Portroe and burial at Yo
